God's Hands

-- Author Unknown

Wishing to encourage her young son's progress on the piano, a mother took her boy to a Paderewski concert. After they were seated, the mother spotted a friend in the audience and walked down the aisle to greet her. Seizing the opportunity to explore the wonders of the concert hall, the little boy rose and eventually explored his way through a door marked "NO ADMITTANCE."

When the house lights dimmed and the concert was about to begin, the mother returned to her seat and discovered that the child was missing.

Suddenly, the curtains parted and spotlights focused on the impressive Steinway on stage. In horror, the mother saw her little boy was sitting at the keyboard, innocently picking out "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." At that moment, the great piano master made his entrance, quickly moved to the piano, and whispered in the boy's ear, "Don't quit. Keep playing."

Then, leaning over, Paderewski reached down with his left hand and began filling in a bass part. Soon his right arm reached around to the other side of the child and he added a running obligato. Together, the old master and the young novice transformed a frightening situation into a wonderfully creative experience. The audience was so mesmerized they couldn't recall what else the great master played. Only the classic "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."

That's the way it is with God. What we can accomplish on our own is hardly noteworthy. We try our best, but the results aren't exactly graceful flowing music. But with the hand of the Master, our life's work truly can be beautiful. Next time you set out to accomplish great feats, listen carefully. You can hear the voice of the Master, whispering in your ear, "Don't quit. Keep playing."

Feel His loving arms around you. Know that His strong hands are there helping you turn your feeble attempts into true masterpieces.

Remember, God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called. And He'll always be there to love and guide you on to great things. Life is more accurately measured by the lives you touch than the things you acquire.

A Testimony!

Hi all, its been so long...ong that I last posted something on our cell group blog. Just wanted to share a testimony that I hadn't got a chance to share during cell group meeting.

This weekend is Mother's Day! And about 2 weeks ago, we were all given invitation cards to invite our mothers and friends who are mothers for this event. Well, in the last service, Pst Tan spoke about being spiritual adoption, that is being pregnant with a vision for our loved ones, friends and collegues to be saved. He shared about how we should start conceiving the salvation of our loved ones in our spirit by committing to pray for them everyday until their salvation becomes a reality.

Well I decided to start conceiving and imagining my mum, my younger sis, my parents-in-law and my 2 brothers-in-law coming to Christ, praying for them everyday since then. Last Sun morning, I felt led to write some heartfelt words on the Mother's Day invitation card, one for my mum, and another for my sis. I then took the courage to give them the invitation cards the next day at my mum's place before I left. And when I returned on Thurs night, I felt something broke in the atmosphere and it was unlike the usual routine dinner gathering. There was an air of liberty and joy throughout the entire fellowship! Although they are not coming for the service yet, I felt that I have entered into a greater intimacy and connection with them, and their hearts were more open than before.

It's the power of prayer, as Dr Kim says, Holy Spirit can give us the power to build relationships - even with our family members whom we are so familiar with. Holy Spirit can anoint us to be sensitive, wise and a fun person to hang around with! At the same time, He can soften the hearts of our loved ones such that they can receive and feel the love of God that is in our hearts.

It's also the power of obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit! He gives us strategies and ideas to open up hearts and as long as we hear and obey, it will bring us a step closer to the breakthrough we desire in our hearts. The Holy Spirit knows the exact doorway to the hearts of our loved ones.

I have witnessed the power of prayer in just days of praying for my family, and until they are all physically birthed into the kingdom of God, I am committed to impregnate them in my spirit through prayer!

May all our loved ones experience a walk with our Lord Jesus Christ in this lifetime, while they are yet healthy and strong!

Hallelujah!
